Scratch & Sniff New York, PHEW York

NYC scratch-n-sniff guide book will be published soon!

Excerpt from http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011/sep/20/scratch-n-sniff-guide-new-york :
Featuring both the good smells (strawberry, pizza, hot dogs, churros) and the bad smells (garbage, sewer steam, horse manure) which sum up the city, New York, PHEW York was dreamed up by a hotel concierge:

"As I was was looking in the window at the pizza, deciding if I should buy a slice, I didn't realise I was steeping in horse manure," said Jones. "I went to the corner to make sure I didn't get any on my shoe and was engulfed by shish kebab smoke from a food cart. It's then I thought 'there should be a scratch-n-sniff guide of New York'. Wha-la! The idea was born."

Also, Amazon.com search found a 1995 book called New York Smells: N.Y.C.'s 1st Scratch & Sniff Guide , have you smelled them before?
